How to draw a bubble letter Y

1. Draw a V on top of a short stem.
2. Outline the V and stem as one shape.
3. Leave the V-shaped gap at the top open, and round its corners.
4. Round the foot of the stem.

The tricky part

Where the two arms meet the stem, the joint wants to become a blob. Keep the arms a little thinner than the stem so the Y still has a waist.

Lowercase bubble y

The lowercase y drops below the line with a tail that curls left. In bubble form the tail is the part people shade, so give it room under the word.

Bubble letter Y sizes and page counts

Letter height here is the height of the capital, the number you would measure on the wall. The width follows from the shape of the Y, which in the Bubble style is about as wide as a typical capital. Page counts assume a 10 mm printer margin and the orientation that needs fewer sheets.
