How to draw a bubble letter Q

1. Draw an O shape.
2. Add a short tail crossing the lower right of the O, pointing down and to the right.
3. Outline the O and the tail together so the tail grows out of the letter.
4. Keep the hole of the O open and round.

The tricky part

The tail is the only difference from O. Make it long enough to stick out past the bottom of the letter, or at a distance nobody can tell them apart.

Lowercase bubble q

The lowercase q is a bowl with a stem dropping below the line on the right, a mirror of p. Some fonts add a small flick at the bottom.

Bubble letter Q sizes and page counts

Letter height here is the height of the capital, the number you would measure on the wall. The width follows from the shape of the Q, which in the Bubble style is wider than it is tall. Page counts assume a 10 mm printer margin and the orientation that needs fewer sheets.

The largest Q that fits on a single Letter sheet is 7 inches tall, printed portrait. For a bulletin board, 6 to 8 inches reads from the back of a classroom; for a door or a banner, 10 to 12 inches.
