How to draw a bubble letter P

1. Pencil a stem and a single bump at the top right, reaching about halfway down.
2. Outline the stem and bump as one shape.
3. Leave one hole inside the bump.
4. Round the foot of the stem and the corners on the left.

The tricky part

A P with a bump that is too big reads as a D, and one that is too small reads as an F. Stop the bump just past the halfway line.

Lowercase bubble p

The lowercase p drops below the line, with the bowl sitting at x-height. On a banner, the stem is the part that hangs down, so give the line below enough room.

Bubble letter P sizes and page counts

Letter height here is the height of the capital, the number you would measure on the wall. The width follows from the shape of the P, which in the Bubble style is about as wide as a typical capital. Page counts assume a 10 mm printer margin and the orientation that needs fewer sheets.

The largest P that fits on a single Letter sheet is 8 inches tall, printed portrait. For a bulletin board, 6 to 8 inches reads from the back of a classroom; for a door or a banner, 10 to 12 inches.
