How to draw a bubble letter O

1. Draw an oval or circle.
2. Draw a second, smaller oval inside it, centered.
3. Keep the band between the two the same width all the way round.
4. Ink it and add a shine mark on the upper left.

The tricky part

An O is easy to draw and hard to draw evenly. Tracing round a cup or a lid for the outer edge gets you most of the way there.

Lowercase bubble o

The lowercase o is the same shape at x-height, usually a touch rounder. In a bubble font the hole is small, so do not let the outline swallow it.

Bubble letter O sizes and page counts

Letter height here is the height of the capital, the number you would measure on the wall. The width follows from the shape of the O, which in the Bubble style is wider than it is tall. Page counts assume a 10 mm printer margin and the orientation that needs fewer sheets.

The largest O that fits on a single Letter sheet is 7.5 inches tall, printed portrait. For a bulletin board, 6 to 8 inches reads from the back of a classroom; for a door or a banner, 10 to 12 inches.
