How to draw a bubble letter N

1. Pencil two stems and a diagonal running from the top of the left stem to the bottom of the right.
2. Outline the whole shape, rounding the corners.
3. Leave two triangular gaps, one pointing up and one pointing down, and round their corners.
4. Ink and erase.

The tricky part

The diagonal is the heaviest stroke. If the outline is too fat the two gaps shrink to slits, so keep the letter a little wider than you think it needs to be.

Lowercase bubble n

The lowercase n is a stem with one arch. It is the base shape for h, m and r, so if you can draw a bubble n the others follow.

Bubble letter N sizes and page counts

Letter height here is the height of the capital, the number you would measure on the wall. The width follows from the shape of the N, which in the Bubble style is about as wide as a typical capital. Page counts assume a 10 mm printer margin and the orientation that needs fewer sheets.

The largest N that fits on a single Letter sheet is 8 inches tall, printed portrait. For a bulletin board, 6 to 8 inches reads from the back of a classroom; for a door or a banner, 10 to 12 inches.
