How to draw a bubble letter F

1. Pencil a stem and two arms to the right, the top arm longer than the middle one.
2. Outline everything as one shape, rounding the arm ends and the foot of the stem.
3. Curve the inside corners where the arms meet the stem.
4. Ink and erase. The bottom is open, so the F has no holes at all.

The tricky part

Because it has no bottom arm, a bubble F looks like it is tipping over. Make the foot of the stem slightly wider than the top to give it some weight.

Lowercase bubble f

The lowercase f has a hooked top and a short crossbar. In bubble fonts the hook curls over into a round knob, which is the part to draw first.

Bubble letter F sizes and page counts

Letter height here is the height of the capital, the number you would measure on the wall. The width follows from the shape of the F, which in the Bubble style is about as wide as a typical capital. Page counts assume a 10 mm printer margin and the orientation that needs fewer sheets.

The largest F that fits on a single Letter sheet is 9 inches tall, printed portrait. For a bulletin board, 6 to 8 inches reads from the back of a classroom; for a door or a banner, 10 to 12 inches.
