How to draw a bubble letter E
- Draw a skeleton E: a stem and three arms, with the middle arm a little shorter.
- Outline the stem and arms as one shape, rounding every arm end.
- Where each arm leaves the stem, curve the inside corner instead of cutting it square.
- Ink, erase, and check that the two gaps between the arms are the same size.
The tricky part
The two gaps between the arms close up first as the outline gets fatter. If they disappear, shorten the middle arm or thin the letter, because an E with no gaps reads as a rectangle.
Lowercase bubble e
The lowercase e is a round letter with a small closed eye at the top and an open tail at the bottom. In bubble form the eye becomes a tiny oval hole, so keep it visible at small sizes.
