How to draw a bubble letter G

1. Draw a C shape, then add a short bar turning inward from the lower right end.
2. Outline the curve and the bar as one shape, keeping the band an even width.
3. Round the top end of the curve and the inner end of the bar.
4. Ink and add a shine mark on the upper left.

The tricky part

The bar is what separates G from C. Make it at least a third of the letter width, because it shrinks visually once the outline rounds it.

Lowercase bubble g

The lowercase g drops below the line with a tail that curls back to the left. Leave room for it when you space a word, or it collides with the letter after it.

Bubble letter G sizes and page counts

Letter height here is the height of the capital, the number you would measure on the wall. The width follows from the shape of the G, which in the Bubble style is wider than it is tall. Page counts assume a 10 mm printer margin and the orientation that needs fewer sheets.

The largest G that fits on a single Letter sheet is 7.5 inches tall, printed portrait. For a bulletin board, 6 to 8 inches reads from the back of a classroom; for a door or a banner, 10 to 12 inches.
